The National Disability Awards are held each year as part of the International Day of People with Disability celebrations. They aim to honour and recognise individuals, businesses and organisations at a local, regional, state or national level that are enabling greater community inclusiveness through:
The awards give Australians the chance to acknowledge the many people, organisations and initiatives across the country that make a positive impact on the lives of people with disability. Now in its ninth year, the National Disability Awards help build awareness of disability issues and showcase the important work throughout the community which enables people with disability to fully participate in work and society.
In 2015, the Awards have a community focus with nominators encouraged to submit nominations without being restricted to one category. Nominations that provide evidence of improving participation for people with disability in all areas or in a specific area such as employment, education, health, housing, sports, arts and cultural events will continue to be accepted and encouraged.
To submit a nomination for the National Disability Awards, Fill in the Nomination Form or call 1800 672 682.
